A mum has praised Asda after she was treated to dinner for her kids for free.
The anonymous woman was over the moon when she received four huge kids’ meals completely free of charge after she bought a coffee for just £1.30 in-store.
Asda launched the campaign last year in a bid to help support families struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
It was then extended into 2021, with any child under 16 being able to take advantage of the offer as long as they’re with a parent.
The mum raved about the deal in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook where she said “hats off to Asda.”
She also attached a snap of the four large chicken nuggets, chips, and peas dinners her kids ordered, which also came with an apple and a Capri Sun.
Alongside the photo, she wrote: “Hats off to Asda. £1.30 for a coffee for myself, then kids eat free. Choice of hot or cold meals. Hot meals come with a piece of fruit and a drink.”
She then added: “ITS A MINIMUM SPEND OF £1, my sister-in-law didn’t have all her kids with her and they still allowed her to have how ever many meals she needed.”
Since being shared, her post has racked up more than 10,000 likes and thousands of comments from parents who applauded the initiative.
One person said: “Asda deserves to be praised by this. I’ve seen in many different posts a lot of people posting their kids got a meal that day thanks to this.”
Another added: ”This is INCREDIBLE. Well done ASDA!!”
“So many families who would appreciate this, even one meal helps when people are in a tough financial position,” said a third.
